The Opportunity

We are working with a well-regarded Sydney CBD commercial law firm seeking an experienced Senior Associate to step into a key leadership role within their commercial team.

This position acts as the 2IC to the Commercial Partner and involves oversight of franchising, leasing, commercial contracts, and business transactions. The successful candidate will bring a strong client management background, leadership capability, and a sharp commercial mindset.

• Salary package circa $170,000 (pending experience and suitability)

About the Work:

You will lead a diverse portfolio of clients and matters, providing high-level legal advice across:

• Franchising law — compliance, structuring, and disputes
• Drafting and negotiating commercial agreements
• Business sale and purchase transactions, including due diligence
• Retail and commercial leasing for major landlords and tenants
• IP and brand protection strategies
• Supervising and mentoring junior lawyers
• Developing client relationships with national and trans-Tasman brands

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years PAE in Commercial Law
• Solid experience across franchising, leasing, and transactions
• Proven leadership and client relationship management skills
• Excellent drafting and negotiation ability
• Commercially astute, confident, and highly organised

This is an office-based, full-time position offering both autonomy and long-term progression within a respected Sydney firm.
