Acute Ward Clinical Lead | Swan Hill District Health, VIC | $2,500/day | 6-Month Contract | Rural Generalist with ALS & Leadership Experience
The Opportunity: Swan Hill District Health (SHDH) is seeking an experienced
Rural Generalist to step into a Clinical Lead position in the
Acute Ward, commencing
as soon as possible for an initial
6-month period, with the potential for extension.
This is a well-supported leadership role suitable for a Fellow confident in managing acute medical patients, leading a team, and handling escalation and emergency care.
Roster Structure: - 1 week on / 1 week off
- Monday to Friday: 08:30–16:30
- 3 x on-call shifts per rostered week (0800–0800)
- $2,500/day inclusive of on-call and recall responsibilities
Clinical Environment: - Lead the Acute Ward with responsibility for up to 20 general medical inpatients
- Provide oversight for HMO team (2 doctors on days, 1 on afternoons)
- Attend to general medicine admissions and manage clinical escalations and emergencies (MET, Code Blue, Trauma)
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary rural hospital team
Eligibility Criteria: - AHPRA Registration (General or Specialist)
- Fellowship with FRACGP or FACRRM required
- Experience working in-charge in hospital environments
- Current ALS certification and neonatal resuscitation competence essential
