Job Description
The Opportunity:
Hunter New England LHD is seeking experienced Emergency Medicine Consultants, VMOs, Staff Specialists, or CMOs In-Charge to provide clinical leadership across its emergency departments.
You’ll work either in charge or alongside other senior ED staff, depending on the site, and manage a broad range of acute presentations with the support of nursing and junior medical teams.
Clinical Environment:
Step into autonomous ED roles where your clinical expertise is trusted and your decisions drive patient outcomes
Manage a wide-ranging case mix including trauma, paediatrics, mental health, and high-acuity resuscitation
Collaborate with experienced emergency nurses, retrieval teams, and junior staff, or work solo depending on the site
Access procedural opportunities and work in environments equipped with EMR, structured handovers, and clear escalation pathways
Enjoy a balance of clinical challenge and independence, ideal for doctors who thrive in senior roles without the administrative burden of metro hospitals
Eligibility Criteria:
AHPRA General or Specialist Registration
FACEM or equivalent for consultants, or extensive ED experience for CMO ICs
NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
Willingness to complete onboarding and credentialing
