Their Sydney-based Criminal Law team is widely respected for its depth of expertise, with a strong focus on criminal and traffic law matters across NSW and the ACT.

About the position:

An exciting opportunity exists for a talented Associate or Senior Associate to join our client’s established Criminal Law team in Sydney. This position is ideally suited to a solicitor with a minimum of 3 years post-admission experience who is looking to take on complex, high-stakes matters while enjoying strong mentorship and a healthy work-life balance.
You will handle a broad range of criminal law files including:
  • Local Court hearings (with or without counsel)
  • District Court sentence matters
  • EAGP and indictable matters, including instructing counsel at trial
  • Traffic offences, assault, drug matters, and serious indictable charges
You will have the autonomy to manage your own files from start to finish, work closely with highly experienced Accredited Specialists, and gain exposure to a wide spectrum of challenging cases.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum 3 years PAE with solid experience in criminal law
  • Confident court advocate with experience running Local Court hearings
  • Exposure to EAGP matters and instructing in higher court matters
  • Excellent understanding of criminal law procedures and evidence
  • Ability to build rapport with clients and stakeholders
  • Strong organisational and time management skills
  • A proactive mindset and a genuine passion for criminal defence
