Murrumbidgee Local Health District is seeking Locum O&G Registrars to support Obstetrics and Gynaecology roster coverage within a regional hospital setting.
This role is suited to registrars with recent O&G experience who are confident supporting maternity, antenatal and gynaecology presentations, completing clinical documentation, assisting with management plans and escalating care appropriately when required.
The placement runs from 28 December 2026 to 10 January 2027, with rostered cover generally running across 24-hour periods.

Clinical Environment

You will provide Obstetrics and Gynaecology Registrar cover within Murrumbidgee LHD.

• O&G registrar cover – support maternity, antenatal and gynaecology presentations
• Regional hospital setting – gain varied women’s health exposure within Murrumbidgee LHD
• 24-hour roster structure – provide cover across rostered day, evening, overnight or on-call requirements as needed
• Supportive team environment – work with medical, midwifery, nursing and hospital teams
• Escalation pathways – escalate patient concerns appropriately to senior medical staff

Patient Demographic

You will support a broad women’s health patient mix, including antenatal patients, maternity presentations, labour ward patients, gynaecology patients, acute reviews and patients requiring assessment, documentation, escalation or ongoing care.

Key Duties

• Provide O&G Registrar cover across rostered shifts
• Review and manage antenatal, maternity and gynaecology presentations
• Support labour ward, ward-based care and urgent reviews as required
• Complete clinical documentation, handover and management plans
• Escalate patient concerns appropriately
• Work collaboratively with medical, midwifery, nursing and allied health teams

Requirements

• Current AHPRA Registration
• Recent O&G Registrar-level experience
• Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work safely within scope and escalate appropriately
• Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
