Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking Locum General Medicine RMOs to support ward-based medical coverage across ongoing regional hospital blocks.

This role is ideal for a doctor who wants a change of scenery, hands-on inpatient medicine experience and the chance to work across welcoming regional NSW communities.

You will review and manage General Medicine inpatients, support ward-based care, complete documentation and escalate clinical concerns appropriately when required.

Ongoing blocks are available, with weekday day-shift options depending on roster requirements.

Clinical Environment

You will provide General Medicine RMO cover within Hunter New England LHD.
Regional General Medicine roles offer broad inpatient exposure, including acute medical admissions, chronic disease management, older patient care and complex comorbidities.
You will work closely with medical, nursing and allied health teams, with clear escalation pathways available.

Patient Demographic

You will support a broad regional General Medicine inpatient mix, including adults, older patients, acute medical admissions, chronic disease presentations, complex comorbidities and patients requiring review, management planning, escalation or ongoing ward-based care.

Key Duties

• Review and manage General Medicine patients
• Support ward-based inpatient care
• Complete clinical documentation and handover
• Assist with management plans and patient flow
• Escalate patient concerns appropriately
• Work collaboratively with nursing, allied health and medical teams

Requirements

• Current AHPRA Registration
• Recent General Medicine experience at RMO level
• Strong communication and clinical documentation skills
• Ability to work safely within scope and escalate appropriately
• Current CV, references and compliance documents as required
