The Opportunity:

Western NSW LHD is seeking skilled GP VMOs with Emergency Medicine experience to provide locum cover across regional hospitals and multipurpose health services. You'll manage a broad range of emergency and acute presentations, supported by experienced nursing staff, retrieval teams, and visiting specialists.

This role is ideal for rural generalists who thrive in hands-on, high-autonomy environments and enjoy the diversity of regional emergency medicine.

Clinical Environment:

• High-value exposure - manage undifferentiated emergency and acute cases in regional EDs
• Scope of practice - from primary care to trauma and critical care management
• Strong support - collaborate with local nursing, retrieval, and specialist networks
• Flexible lifestyle - ad-hoc or block bookings available
• Fully supported locum - travel, accommodation, and hire car provided

Eligibility Criteria:

• AHPRA Specialist Registration
• Proven experience managing emergency presentations
• NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
• Australian working rights

• Up to $3,000/day (depending on site and experience)
