About the position: Our client is looking for a talented Corporate & Commercial Senior Associate (approximately 4–6 years post-admission) to join our clients’ team in either Sydney or Melbourne CBD. This is a genuine career-defining opportunity for a lawyer who enjoys being close to the client, trusted with responsibility, and exposed to sophisticated matters from day one.
The work is broad, high-quality and includes:
- Private and public M&A (including due diligence, deal structuring and negotiations)
- Joint ventures, shareholder arrangements and strategic investments
- Capital raisings and broader corporate advisory (including governance support)
- Commercial contracts and business-critical advisory for established and growth clients
- Working with founders, boards, senior executives and key stakeholders
- Matters that intersect with specialist teams (tax, disputes, employment, IP) to deliver end-to-end solutions
You’ll be supported by market-leading practitioners, while also being trusted to run key streams of work, mentor juniors and build strong, long-term client relationships.
Key Requirements: - Typically 4–6 years’ post-admission experience in corporate/commercial at a top-tier or premium firm
- Strong technical foundations across M&A and general corporate advisory
- Confidence managing matters, coordinating inputs and supervising junior lawyers
- Excellent drafting skills and commercial judgement
- Client-first approach with strong communication and stakeholder management
- Proactive, outcome-focused style and ability to thrive in a high-performance environment
