Job Description

Join our client’s highly regarded Environment & Planning team, part of a national Real Estate & Projects practice known for its excellence and innovation. With offices across Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, our client is a forward-thinking independent law firm that services major developers, institutional landowners and all levels of government. 

About the position:


This is an excellent opportunity for a Lawyer with 1–4 years PAE to join our client’s growing Environment & Planning team in Sydney. The role offers exposure to a full spectrum of environment and planning law, including:
  • Land and Environment Court litigation (Classes 1, 3, 4 & 5)
  • Compulsory acquisition, contamination, pollution and heritage disputes
  • Advisory work on development applications, risk and regulatory compliance
  • Planning agreements, biodiversity offsets and enforcement action
  • Matters involving both private and public sector clients
You'll also be exposed to cross-jurisdictional work from offices in Melbourne, Brisbane and Canberra, gaining experience in both NSW and national legislative frameworks.
 
Key Requirements:
  • 1–4 years PAE and a valid practising certificate for NSW
  • Background in a mid/top-tier law firm or relevant in-house/government role
  • Experience in planning, environmental or administrative law
  • Strong legal research, drafting, and litigation management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively within a close-knit team
  • A detail-oriented mindset with excellent client service focus
  • Genuine interest in development law, government policy and sustainability

  • Salary range: $95,000 – $135,000 + Super + Annual Bonus, depending on experience
