About the position:

Our client is seeking a confident Special Counsel – Family Lawyer to take over from a departing senior team member and continue driving excellence in a highly profitable practice. You will step into a well-positioned caseload of high-quality matters, supported by a collegiate team and strong firm-wide marketing.

You’ll be handling a mix of:

• Complex property settlements, including business valuations and trust structures
• Parenting disputes, including relocation and risk cases
• Binding Financial Agreements, spousal maintenance, and consent orders
• Direct client contact, strategic advisory, and dispute resolution/mediation

This is an opportunity to operate autonomously, build on existing referral relationships, and enjoy strategic input into the team structure as the practice grows.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years’ PAE in family law
• Accredited Specialist in Family Law or equivalent senior experience
• Proven ability to independently manage complex family law matters
• Strong stakeholder management and mentoring capability
• Existing client base or referrer network is highly regarded
