About the Role:

We are seeking a skilled and enthusiastic Front-End IP Lawyer or Trademark Attorney to play a key role in the expanding Intellectual Property division of our client. This is an exciting opportunity to work on a diverse range of stimulating matters and contribute to the continued success of their IP practice.

Reporting to a highly regarded Partner who leads the IP division, you will be responsible for providing expert legal advice and services to a diverse and high-caliber client base, including innovative startups, national corporations, and international businesses across sectors such as franchising, technology, and consumer goods.

About the Law Firm:

Our client is a well-established legal practice located in the Sydney CBD. They are known for providing a range of legal services with a strong focus on corporate and commercial law. They work across an interesting range of practice areas to which their IP practice has boomed such as Franchising, commercial property, automotive law 

Key Responsibilities:
  • Providing expert advice on all aspects of intellectual property law, with a strong focus on trademarks, copyright, and designs.
  • Conducting trademark availability searches, providing registrability advice, and managing trademark portfolios.
  • Preparing, filing, and prosecuting trademark, design, and copyright applications in Australia and internationally.
  • Drafting and negotiating a variety of IP-related agreements, including licensing agreements, assignment agreements, and confidentiality agreements.
  • Advising clients on branding strategies, advertising clearance, and domain name disputes.
  • Assisting with IP enforcement matters, including infringement analysis and dispute resolution.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 2 years PAE + Sydney experience front end IP/ Trademark Law 
  • Comfortable running client matters autonomously
  • Strong drafting and communication skills
  • Commercial acumen and a proactive, client-focused approach
