Job Description

Our client is a well-established national litigation and property firm with close to 90 people across Australia and an offshore support office. Their close-knit Sydney litigation team works alongside a broader Queensland practice across construction disputes, equity matters, defamation, breach of contract and property damage claims, sitting within a wider commercial and property practice.

This is a permanent, full-time Senior Associate to Special Counsel level opportunity reporting directly into an experienced partner group.

Salary Range and Features of the Role:

• Competitive remuneration, $150K-$190K ex super benchmarked to Senior Associate/Special Counsel market rates, negotiable on experience
• Genuine autonomy over your own file load within a supportive, technically strong team
• Stable, established practice with a strong pipeline of complex, technically interesting work
• No personal injury, family, tax or employment law, a genuinely focused litigation practice
• A clear career progression pathway

About the Role

You'll take carriage of your own file load across construction disputes, equity matters, defamation, breach of contract and property damage claims, contributing to a stable and varied litigation practice with genuine depth of work.

• Manage your own matters from instruction through to resolution, with partner support
• Draft pleadings, advices and correspondence, and run negotiations across a broad litigation caseload
• Appear at directions hearings and mediations as matters progress
• Collaborate within a supportive, technically strong litigation team

What You'll Bring

• Strong litigation experience gained in a private practice environment
• Ideally, exposure to construction or property disputes (not essential, a willingness to learn is valued just as highly)
• Confident file management and the ability to work independently while collaborating well within a team
• Strong drafting, negotiation and advocacy skills
• Current practising certificate, NSW or QLD admission (or eligibility for)
