Area Chief Radiographer - lead imaging services across Launceston, Tasmania. Relocation role.
About the Company
Our client is a well-established, multi-site medical imaging provider with a significant footprint across Australia, offering the full breadth of diagnostic and interventional services under one network. In the Launceston region specifically, that means genuine case variety: general X-ray, CT, MRI, nuclear medicine and PET, mammography, bone density scanning and ultrasound, delivered across a mix of community clinics and hospital-based sites, backed by the resources and investment of a national organisation rather than a single small practice.
About the Position
This is a genuine leadership opportunity. As Area Chief Radiographer, you'll take operational and professional leadership of imaging services across the Launceston region, with accountability for both clinical quality and commercial performance. Day to day, that means rostering and modality management across a multidisciplinary team, coaching and developing your radiographers, and staying hands-on performing routine and specialised imaging procedures yourself. You'll also build the relationships that make a regional network run well, working closely with referrers, radiologists and internal stakeholders. It's a role for someone who wants genuine management scope and commercial exposure, not just a title, with the backing of an established network behind every decision you make.
For a Melbourne-based radiographer, this is a chance to step into a senior leadership role in a genuinely comprehensive service, without waiting years for the same opportunity to open up locally.
Key Requirements
- Demonstrated leadership experience, with the ability to coach, mentor and support a radiography team
- Proven ability to perform high-quality medical imaging examinations to industry standards
- Current AHPRA registration under the Medical Radiation Practice Board of Australia
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage radiologists, patients, staff and referrers
- Strong organisational and problem-solving skills, with a genuine commitment to patient care
- Willingness to relocate to Tasmania
About the Location
Launceston is Tasmania's second-largest city, and it offers the lifestyle drawcards a lot of Melbourne-based radiographers only get on weekends away: genuinely affordable housing, short commutes from almost anywhere in the city, and easy access to the Tamar Valley wine region, national parks and some of the best produce and dining in the state. Launceston Airport puts Melbourne under an hour away by direct flight, so family and friends are never far, and the city has the schools, hospitals and services of a genuine regional centre rather than a remote posting.
On Offer
- A genuine step up into a multi-site leadership role, not just another radiographer position
- Our client offers a competitive salary of $75 to $95 per hour, reflecting the seniority of this leadership role, along with flexible work options
- Continued investment in the latest imaging equipment and technology
- Ongoing commitment to your professional development and career advancement within a growing network
- Access to an employee assistance program, plus benefits including paid parental leave and discounted health insurance
