Join a well-established specialist cardiology provider in Central Melbourne as a Lead Echocardiographer. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced cardiac physiologist to step into a senior role combining hands-on clinical work with team leadership, mentoring and service improvement.
Reporting to the Clinical Services Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the Specialist Cardiac Physiologist team while working closely with Cardiologists, referrers and practice staff to deliver outstanding patient care, diagnostic quality and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality echocardiography services in line with professional standards
- Ensure accurate acquisition, interpretation support and documentation of diagnostic findings
- Provide day-to-day leadership, mentoring and clinical support to Specialist Cardiac Physiologists
- Support the training and development of students and supervisors
- Foster a positive, collaborative and high-performing team culture
- Build strong working relationships with Cardiologists, referrers and internal stakeholders
- Manage patient and referrer enquiries, feedback and complaints professionally
- Uphold clinical governance, safety, accreditation and WHS standards
- Identify equipment issues, risks and service improvement opportunities
- Contribute to workflow efficiencies, innovation and clinic growth initiatives
About You
To be considered, you will ideally bring:
- ASAR registration
- Relevant echocardiography accreditation
- Strong experience in echocardiography within a specialist or hospital setting
- Demonstrated leadership, mentoring or senior team support experience
- Excellent communication, organisational and stakeholder management skills
- A patient-centred and professional approach
- Ability to travel across different Melbourne clinic locations where required
Desirable: - Current CPR / life support certification
- Understanding of Medicare criteria for cardiac testing
- Exposure to systems such as GE Ultrasound, Ticker Cardiology reporting platform and HealthTrack EMR
