The Opportunity:

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking ICU Registrars to support their critical care service across regional hospital sites.

You’ll join a multidisciplinary ICU team managing a wide range of medical and surgical patients, including ventilated and high-dependency cases.

This is an excellent locum opportunity for PGY4+ doctors with ICU or high-acuity experience looking to build confidence, flexibility, and income in a supportive and structured environment.
 
Clinical Environment:

• Exposure to a broad ICU caseload including ventilated, post-op, and emergency patients
• Work closely with intensivists, anaesthetists, and ED physicians in an integrated team
• Develop advanced airway, line, and resuscitation skills under supervision
• Access retrieval and escalation pathways for complex cases
• Enhance procedural proficiency in a regional teaching hospital setting

 
Eligibility Criteria:

• General AHPRA Registration
• PGY4+ with prior ICU, ED, or anaesthetics experience
• NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
• Australian working rights
• Willing to complete HNELHD onboarding and credentialing

 
What’s Provided:

• Up to $200/hour, depending on experience and shift type
• Full travel, accommodation, and car hire provided
• Flexible locum blocks or ad hoc shifts available
• End-to-end support with admin, onboarding, and scheduling
