The Opportunity:

Hunter New England Local Health District is seeking a confident Surgical Registrar (PGY4+) to support general and emergency surgery services.

You’ll work closely with consultants and junior staff across inpatient, theatre, and on-call rosters.

Ideal for registrars seeking a mix of procedural exposure, clinical autonomy, and structured consultant guidance.
 
Clinical Environment: 

• Assist in and perform procedures across general, emergency, and day surgery
• Participate in ward rounds, admissions, pre/post-op care, and trauma response
• Work within collaborative multidisciplinary teams including anaesthetics and ED
• Access modern theatres and electronic records, with strong perioperative pathways
• Gain autonomy while developing technical and leadership skills in a regional setting

Eligibility Criteria:

• AHPRA General Registration
• NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
• Australian working rights
• Willingness to complete onboarding and hospital credentialing

What’s Provided:

• $170/hour 
• Travel and accommodation covered
• Block bookings or ad hoc shifts available
• Full credentialing and rostering support
