Hunter New England LHD is seeking experienced Anaesthetics Consultants / Specialists / VMOs to support a range of hospital sites across the district.

You’ll cover elective and emergency theatre lists, procedural sedation, and airway support, with the potential for on-call shifts depending on site requirements.
 
Clinical Environment:

• Work across modern operating theatres with strong perioperative support, giving you confidence to focus on clinical care
• Broad exposure to general surgery, orthopaedics, obstetrics, emergency, and paediatrics, ideal for maintaining full-scope anaesthetic skills
• Collaborate with skilled surgical, ED, and retrieval teams, ensuring efficient workflows and safe escalation when needed
• Enjoy autonomy in decision-making, while supported by a responsive and experienced multidisciplinary team
• Opportunities to supervise junior doctors or assist in rural procedural training if desired
• Make a visible impact in regional hospitals, where your presence directly improves service delivery and patient outcomes

Eligibility Criteria:

• AHPRA Specialist Registration
• FANZCA or equivalent
• NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
• Willingness to complete onboarding and credentialing

• Up to $4,000/day, based on shift type and site

• Bookings available across Tamworth, Armidale, Maitland, Inverell and other HNELHD sites
