Job Description

The Opportunity:

Join busy metropolitan emergency departments across Western Sydney and gain hands-on exposure to high-acuity cases. 

Western Sydney LHD is seeking PGY3+ SRMOs to provide locum coverage across its emergency departments.

You'll support a wide variety of acute presentations in fast-paced hospitals, working closely with FACEMs, registrars, and skilled nursing teams. 
 
Clinical Environment:  
  • Work in well-equipped metro EDs with electronic medical records and consultant supervision
  • Manage a wide range of emergency presentations, including trauma, paediatrics, mental health, and complex medicine
  • Access to structured escalation pathways and educational support, ideal for doctors pursuing ACEM training
  • Develop autonomy and procedural skills, including cannulation, suturing, plastering, and airway management
  • Ideal for SRMOs looking to gain experience in high-acuity urban settings while maintaining roster flexibility
 
Eligibility Criteria:
  • AHPRA General Registration
  • PGY3+ with at least 6–12 months Emergency Medicine experience
  • NSW Working with Children Check and Police Check
  • Willingness to complete onboarding and credentialing
 
What’s Provided:
  • Up to $160/hour, depending on shift and experience
  • Travel and accommodation support may be available for block bookings
  • Shifts available across weekday, weekend, and public holiday rosters
  • End-to-end credentialing support provided
 
Location – Western Sydney LHD, NSW:
