Job Description

Senior Family Lawyer | $160,000 + Super

Join a national family law firm in Darwin with flexibility, team support & lifestyle perks.

3 Key Points:
  • Embrace a genuine work-life balance in tropical Darwin
  • Supportive, tight-knit team culture within a national firm
  • Enjoy regular team events, flexibility and a down-to-earth environment
About our Client: Our client is a prestigious national law firm specialising exclusively in family law. With offices across Australia, their Darwin team continues to grow and offers a supportive, close-knit environment without compromising on the resources and backing of a large, reputable practice.
What sets them apart is their focus on people—both clients and staff. The firm has cultivated a team culture where collaboration, social connection, and flexibility are central to daily operations. Their team in Darwin combines local insight with national standards, creating a workplace that is both professional and relaxed.

About the Position: Our client is seeking a Senior Family Lawyer who values high-quality legal work and a balanced, fulfilling lifestyle. Based in Darwin, this opportunity places you within a friendly and collaborative team of four experienced lawyers and dedicated support staff.

You’ll handle a wide variety of engaging family law matters such as:
  • Parenting and custody disputes
  • Complex property settlements, including high-asset portfolios
  • Divorce, financial agreements, and de facto relationship issues
  • Relocation and recovery orders
This is more than a legal role—it’s a chance to be part of a team that prioritises wellbeing, supports each other, and celebrates achievements together. From team lunches to firm-sponsored social events and national collaboration, this is a firm that believes your success should feel good both professionally and personally.

Flexible hours, autonomy in file management, and clear performance goals are standard. The firm’s streamlined systems and paralegal support ensure your time is spent doing what you do best—practising law, not admin.

Key Requirements:
  • Minimum of 4 years PAE in family law (private practice)
  • Strong experience with complex parenting and property files
  • Client-focused with excellent communication skills
  • Confident in managing files autonomously
  • Keen to engage in a team-focused, people-first culture
  • Comfortable with performance-based goals
On Offer:
  • Salary range: $120K–$160K + Super + KPI-driven bonuses
  • Flexible working arrangements to suit your lifestyle
  • Enjoy warm weather, coastal escapes, and a relaxed pace of life in Darwin
  • Regular social events, team bonding activities, and inclusive culture
  • Structured national support with local autonomy
  • Work in a firm that genuinely values your wellbeing and balance
  • Excellent systems and paralegal support to help you focus on clients
  • Join a culture that celebrates success—big and small
