Job Description

Salary and Features of this position:
  • $130,000 - $180,000 Salary Range | pending experience and suitability
  • The Firm offers genuine flexibility with work from home days weekly and Permanent Part Time arrangements if required
  • A specialist investigations-focused practice with a strong national client base
  • Quality matters with real variety (not repetitive advisory-only work)
  • Autonomy and trust, with experienced practitioners to collaborate with on complex issues
  • Clear pathways to grow your profile as a trusted investigator and workplace advisor
The Firm:

Our client is a specialist boutique law firm focused exclusively on employment law and workplace investigations. Operating from Sydney, they advise employers and employees across the full spectrum of employment matters — from unfair dismissal and general protections to enterprise bargaining — and conduct independent workplace investigations into misconduct, bullying, harassment and discrimination. The firm has built a strong reputation in both advisory and investigative work, with an experienced team that brings genuine expertise to one of the most demanding areas of practice.

ABOUT THE POSITION

This role sits across both practice streams. Day-to-day you will advise on employment law matters drawing on your private practice background, while also conducting or assisting with workplace investigations — interviewing witnesses, reviewing evidence, drafting findings, and delivering clear, defensible reports to clients. The investigations component of the role is not incidental: it is central to what the firm does, and they are looking for someone who finds it genuinely interesting. As you develop your career here, you will work across an increasingly complex caseload with direct access to senior practitioners.

KEY REQUIREMENTS
  • 2+ years post-admission experience (up to senior level considered)
  • Private practice background required — in-house experience alone will not be sufficient
  • Employment Law experience strongly preferred
  • Genuine interest in conducting workplace investigations (misconduct, bullying, harassment, discrimination)
  • Strong analytical, drafting and reasoning skills
  • Sound judgment and ability to handle sensitive matters with discretion
  • Commercially focused approach and strong client management skills
