About the position:

Our client is looking for a Senior Associate – Professional Liability to join our clients’ team in Sydney CBD. This is a back-end role where you’ll take genuine ownership, advise key stakeholders, and be trusted as a go-to on complex professional liability and financial lines matters.
You’ll have exposure to a varied mix including:

• Professional indemnity claims across a range of professions (e.g., financial services, real estate, engineering, architecture and legal)
• D&O and management liability matters, including coverage advice and defence strategy
• Complex, sensitive disputes (including matters with class action exposure)
• Policy interpretation, drafting input, and risk management/minimisation advice
• Working closely with insurers, underwriting agencies and brokers, including international market participants

This role suits a Senior Associate who enjoys autonomy, meaningful client contact, and mentoring juniors—without losing hands-on technical work.

Key Requirements:

• Typically 5+ years PAE in professional liability / financial lines (defence and/or coverage)
• Strong technical grounding in PI and claims management, with confident stakeholder communication
• Clear, concise drafting (coverage advices, pleadings, submissions and correspondence)
• Able to run matters end-to-end, prioritise effectively and meet tight deadlines
• Commercial, solutions-focused mindset and strong relationship management skills
