Our client is a well-established, high-demand regional dental clinic in Tumut with a strong local reputation and a loyal patient base. The clinic is growing and needs to expand appointment availability following a recent Dentist departure - making this an excellent opportunity for a General Dentist who enjoys a fast-paced, community-focused practice.


About the position

Our client is looking for a General Dentist to join our clients’ team on a locum or permanent basis, ideally Monday to Friday. The clinic is extremely busy, with patients currently booked around two months in advance and a long waiting list - so rebuilding the book should be straightforward.

This role will be primarily general dentistry and emergency care, including:

• Examinations, treatment planning and preventive dentistry
• Emergency appointments, pain relief and urgent care
• Restorative dentistry (composite fillings, bonding)
• Extractions and basic surgical procedures where appropriate
• Root canal therapy as needed (depending on your scope/interest)
• Crown and bridge work (experience with crowns is highly regarded)

You’ll be supported by an experienced team including senior Dentists (owner/principal) who undertake higher-end treatments such as implants, All-on-6, crowns and Invisalign-style orthodontics, plus an Oral Health Therapist focused on recalls, check-ups and paediatric patients.


Mentorship and support

Our client offers genuine day-to-day clinical support—while there isn’t a formal mentorship schedule, senior Dentists are on-site daily for:

• Case discussions and second opinions
• Treatment planning support
• Clinical consults when you need a hand

Key Requirements

• AHPRA registration (or eligibility) as a Dentist in Australia
• Ideally 1+ year post-grad experience (ADC-qualified Dentists welcome)
• Confident with general dentistry and managing emergencies
• Strong communication and patient-centred chairside manner
• Interest in a longer-term role preferred (locum also welcomed short-term)

• Our client offers 35–40% commission (based on experience)
• Our client offers locum flexibility, with potential daily retainer (to be discussed, approx. first 3 months)

• Our client offers relocation support options (case-by-case), such as flights or rent assistance for an agreed period
• Our client offers full-time preferred (Mon–Fri), with part-time considered for the right Dentist
