About the position
Our client is looking for a part-time Dental Hygienist to join our clients' team in a supportive dental practice in the Blackwood area.
This position is ideal for a Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist who wants meaningful clinical work without compromising family life. The role offers part-time hours, a friendly team and a patient base that values consistent, preventative care.
You will provide a range of hygiene and preventative treatments, including scale and cleans, periodontal maintenance, gum health assessments, fluoride treatments, oral hygiene education, preventive care, fissure sealants and ongoing recall appointments. Depending on your experience and scope, there may also be opportunities to assist with whitening consultations and tailored maintenance plans.
Key responsibilities include: - Providing high-quality hygiene and preventative dental care
- Performing scale and cleans, periodontal charting and perio maintenance
- Educating patients on oral hygiene, gum health and prevention
- Supporting long-term recall and maintenance programs
- Creating a calm, friendly and reassuring patient experience
- Working closely with Dentists and the wider support team
- Maintaining accurate patient records and clinical notes
- Upholding infection control and compliance standards
- Helping patients feel comfortable and confident in their care
Key Requirements - Current AHPRA registration as a Dental Hygienist or Oral Health Therapist
- Confidence providing preventative and periodontal care
- Strong communication and patient education skills
- Warm, professional and patient-focused approach
- Ability to work well within a friendly team environment
- Commitment to high clinical and infection control standards
- Previous experience in a dental practice environment preferred
- Availability for part-time hours
- Interest in building long-term relationships with patients and families
