We are working with a well-regarded Sydney CBD Commercial law Firm seeking an experienced Senior Associate to step into a key leadership role within their commercial team.

This role will act as the 2IC to the Commercial Partner and oversee a mix of franchising, leasing, commercial contracts, and business transactions. The ideal candidate will bring strong client management skills, leadership capability, and a sharp commercial mindset.

About the Position:

You will have the opportunity to  lead a diverse portfolio of clients and matters tailored, providing high-level legal advice to some of the most recognised brands across Australia and New Zealand for:

• Advising on franchising law, including compliance, structuring and disputes
• Drafting and negotiating a wide range of commercial agreements
• Managing business sale and purchase transactions, including due diligence
• Handling retail and commercial leasing for major landlords and tenants
• Advising on IP-related matters, including brand licensing and protection strategies
• Taking on a client-facing role with the autonomy to build strong relationships
• Supervising and mentoring high performing Junior Lawyers.

Salary:

• $170,000 Package pending experience and suitability

• Autonomy is provided and there is no micromanagement. Reasonable targets of 5.5 billables daily are used

• There are career progression pathways to partnership

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 5+ years PAE in Commercial Law with solid leadership capabilities
• Strong experience in franchising, leasing, and commercial transactions
• Outstanding written and verbal communication skills
• A sharp, polished and confident professional presence
• Proven ability to manage direct client relationships and complex negotiations
• High attention to detail and a commercial, solutions-oriented mindset
• This is an office based full time position.
