About the firm

Our client is a well-established Sydney CBD commercial boutique with over 20 years of practice across franchising, corporate advisory, property, litigation, and building and construction law.
The firm combines mid-tier depth with genuine boutique agility. You will have direct access to firm leadership, real influence over strategy and the ability to make decisions without unnecessary layers.
The B&C practice is active, with an existing client base across developers, builders, contractors and project stakeholders.

About the role

This is a genuine ownership opportunity within a commercially driven boutique environment.
Reporting directly to the firm’s Director, you will work closely with the person setting strategy for the practice. Decisions happen in real time, and the pathway to partnership and equity will be discussed openly from the outset.
The work spans:

• Contract drafting and negotiation
• Procurement, risk allocation and project structuring
• Security of Payment matters
• Adjudication
• Arbitration
• Expert determination
• Construction disputes
• Building defects
• Related litigation

• A Special Counsel at a national or mid-tier firm where the partnership pathway has stalled
• A Partner at a larger firm seeking more autonomy and a more commercially direct environment
• A boutique or sole practice owner who wants the referral network, infrastructure and support of an established commercial firm

What you’ll bring

• NSW-admitted solicitor with 7+ years’ PQE in building and construction law
• Solid experience across both front-end contract work and back-end disputes
• Ability to manage client relationships and run matters independently
• Established client relationships, with portable work expected
• Commercial acumen and a clear understanding of how legal advice drives business value
• Experience leading or mentoring junior practitioners will be highly regarded
