Job Description

A standout opportunity for a Corporate Lawyer who wants better breadth, better flexibility and a stronger long-term platform.

This role sits in a national corporate practice and offers the mix many lawyers actively look for: varied M&A and advisory work, strong partner access, mentoring responsibility and a flexible way of working.

You’ll work closely with a Sydney-based partner, but within a team that operates collaboratively across offices.
That gives the role both strong local connection and broader national reach.

Why you'll love it here

  • The package for this opportunity is $180,000–$220,000 + super, aligned to current Sydney market expectations for Senior Associate corporate/M&A talent.
  • You’ll be involved in public and private M&A, capital raising, shareholder arrangements, foreign investment, governance, Corporations Act and ASX Listing Rule advice, plus commercial contracts.
  • The team structure already contemplates hybrid and work-from-home arrangements, and the wider firm promotes a broader suite of flexible work and leave options across the business.
  • The national practice is described as collaborative and partner-led, with supportive mentors and room for you to mentor junior lawyers as part of the role.
About the role

You’ll advise on a wide range of corporate and transactional matters.
Typical work is likely to include:
  • Public and private M&A
  • Capital raising
  • Shareholder arrangements
  • Foreign investment advice and applications
  • Corporate governance
  • Corporations Act advice
  • ASX Listing Rule advice
  • Commercial contract matters
The client base ranges from privately held corporations to large publicly listed companies.
It also includes Australian and international work, which adds useful depth and variety to the role.

What you'll bring

You’ll have at least 6 years’ experience from a respected corporate practice or in-house corporate advisory or M&A role.

You’ll be confident, capable and comfortable building strong working relationships.
You’ll stand out if you bring:
  • Strong corporate advisory and M&A capability
  • Commercial judgement
  • Excellent interpersonal skills
  • Confidence mentoring junior lawyers
  • Strong drafting and matter management
  • A collaborative, grounded style
