About the role

You’ll run and assist on a varied Family Law file load spanning relationship breakdown, children’s matters and financial disputes. The work will suit a lawyer who enjoys both the technical side of practice and the human side of helping clients through difficult periods with clarity, empathy and confidence.

• Manage matters across parenting, divorce, child support, spousal maintenance and property settlement issues
• Draft court documents, affidavits, consent orders and financial agreements
• Prepare matters for mediation, negotiation and litigation
• Appear in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia as required
• Work with counsel, experts and other professionals on complex matters
• Build trusted client relationships and provide clear, practical advice
• Contribute to business development, client engagement and team growth
• Support junior lawyers and help maintain a collaborative team environment

What you'll bring

You’ll be an Associate-level Family Law lawyer with solid technical foundations, good judgement and the ability to handle sensitive matters with professionalism. You’ll also be someone who values working in a collaborative team and wants to keep building depth in the practice.

• Experience in Family Law across parenting and financial matters
• Strong drafting skills and attention to detail
• Confidence managing files and competing priorities
• Clear, empathetic and professional client communication
• Court exposure or genuine interest in building litigation capability

• Commercial awareness and sound practice management skills
