Lawyer - Wills and Estates, Commercial, Property Law & Conveyancing An established inner-west Melbourne law firm is seeking a Lawyer for a full-time, on-site role in Footscray. This is a rare chance to step into a broad practice covering wills and estates, property law, conveyancing and commercial matters, with real client contact, genuine responsibility and a salary of $100,000-$130,000 + super.
Why you'll love it here There is a lot to like here for the right lawyer: variety, autonomy, a steady client base and the credibility that comes with a long-established practice. The firm's positioning is grounded in practical advice, personal attention and accessible service, which creates a role that feels both stable and hands-on.
- Broad mix of wills and estates, property law, conveyancing and commercial work
- Strong client-facing element and trusted adviser style of practice
- Long-established local firm with a well-known presence in the western suburbs
- Personalised approach rather than being passed around between file handlers
- Practical, professional environment with genuine day-to-day ownership
About the role You will work across the firm's core practice areas and play an active part in delivering clear, practical legal support to clients. The role is suited to a lawyer who likes variety, can manage their own workflow and is confident working across several matter types.
- Handle files in wills and estates, property law, conveyancing and commercial matters
- Conduct legal research and prepare legal documents
- Liaise with clients and other legal professionals throughout matters
- Ensure compliance with relevant legal processes
- Prioritise competing deadlines and manage multiple cases
- Contribute to a smooth, professional client experience from start to finish
What you'll bring You are an admitted Lawyer with strong communication skills, sound technical foundations and the ability to work autonomously. Experience in any of the core practice areas will be highly advantageous, especially if you enjoy a generalist mix rather than a narrow practice.
- Strong expertise in wills and estates, property law, conveyancing and commercial matters
- Proficiency in legal research and drafting
- Understanding of regulatory and compliance requirements
- Strong negotiation skills and the ability to represent clients in legal proceedings
- Excellent verbal and written communication
- Ability to manage multiple cases and meet tight deadlines
- LLB or JD and active admission to legal practice
