Senior Personal Injury Lawyer - Team Lead (Workers Comp & Common Law) with mentoring focus and reduced file load. Parramatta CBD

Job Description

About the opportunity:

Our client is looking for a Senior Personal Injury Lawyer to step into a leadership-focused role overseeing Workers Compensation and common law work injury matters.
This position is designed for someone who enjoys:
  • Guiding a team—mentoring, reviewing work, lifting capability, and building confidence
  • Owning strategy on more complex files (liability, quantum, evidence planning, settlement approach)
  • Driving performance—helping the team hit targets while maintaining strong client care and quality outcomes
  • Being a key voice in process improvement, precedent development, and best-practice file management
You’ll still keep a smaller personal caseload, but the emphasis is on leadership, coaching, and overall matter oversight rather than carrying a heavy load.
The work will include running and supervising matters such as:
  • Weekly payments, medical and related expenses, and permanent impairment disputes
  • Work injury damages / common law pathways, including preparing matters for mediation and, where needed, court proceedings
  • Managing stakeholder relationships (counsel, medical experts, rehab providers, insurers) and ensuring a high standard of advice and advocacy
You’ll report directly to two Accredited Specialists, gaining daily access to strong technical guidance and leadership support.

On offer:

Our client offers a leadership pathway with real autonomy, strong support, and standout working conditions, including:
  • A premium top-floor office with excellent facilities in a major Western Sydney CBD
  • 1 WFH day per week once probation is successfully completed
  • Performance-based commissions and bonuses tied to achievable targets
  • A supportive structure with two Accredited Specialists as your direct leaders
  • A friendly, modern culture with a mix of experienced lawyers and emerging talent
  • The chance to genuinely shape a team—training, standards, workflows, and results

About the law Firm:

Our client is a well-regarded plaintiff personal injury practice based in a modern, top-floor office in a major Western Sydney CBD. The firm is led by two Accredited Specialists, offering a rare opportunity to work directly with senior practitioners who are hands-on, supportive, and invested in developing their people.

The team culture is genuinely friendly and energetic, with a great balance of younger lawyers and experienced seniors—so you’ll have both drive and depth around you.

Key Requirements:
  • 8–10 years PAE (plaintiff personal injury focus preferred)
  • Admitted solicitor in NSW (or eligible to practise in NSW)
  • Strong experience across Workers Compensation matters and exposure to work injury damages / common law claims
  • Proven ability to mentor, supervise and uplift junior lawyers and support staff
  • Confident in dispute resolution, negotiation and matter strategy (liability + quantum)
  • Strong drafting skills (submissions, advice, settlement strategy, evidentiary prep)
  • A calm, collaborative leadership style with a focus on quality client outcomes and team performance
