About the Position: Our client is looking for an experienced Senior Property & Commercial Lawyer (Senior Associate or Special Counsel level) to step into a pivotal leadership role and join our clients’ team as a trusted advisor to premium clients.

This is a genuine step-up opportunity offering autonomy, strategic influence and the time to do work properly — with reduced billable expectations designed to support leadership, mentoring and relationship-building (not just volume).

You’ll lead matters across a varied, high-quality mix, such as:

• Commercial and industrial acquisitions and disposals (including due diligence)
• Retail, commercial and industrial leasing (acting for landlords and tenants)
• Property development work (subdivisions, off-the-plan, staged settlements)
• Easements, covenants, titles and complex transactional problem-solving
• Structuring and commercial documentation (terms sheets, JV-style arrangements, service/contract packages)
• Business sales and purchases where property and commercial terms intersect

You’ll be supported by capable paralegals and junior lawyers, with scope to mentor, refine systems and contribute to sustainable practice growth. This role suits a senior operator who enjoys being hands-on, while also guiding others and building long-term client relationships.

Key Requirements:

• Minimum 8+ years PAE in Property and Commercial Law (private practice required)
• Strong technical capability across complex transactions and negotiations
• Proven experience supervising, mentoring or developing junior staff
• Confidence managing key client relationships and contributing to referrals/BD
• Exceptional drafting skills and attention to detail across property and commercial documentation
• Specialist accreditation (or working towards) will be highly regarded
