Job Description

Corporate Tax Solicitor / Senior Associate

This role offers the rare mix of premium transactions, strong mentoring, broad collaboration and a culture that backs both performance and wellbeing.
  • Salary: $190,000–$230,000
  • Sydney CBD
  • Full-time permanent role
  • Solicitor / Senior Associate level
  • Corporate Tax practice
  • Advisory-focused position with no tax compliance work
Why you'll love it here

This is the kind of opportunity that can genuinely sharpen your career. You’ll work on headline corporate tax matters, build your profile in a highly regarded team and do it in an environment that invests in learning, collaboration and sustainable success rather than expecting you to figure it all out alone.
  • High-end work across corporate transactions, funds, property and broader investment activity
  • Strong national and international collaboration
  • Access to mentors, structured learning and day-to-day development
  • Scope to deepen both technical tax expertise and commercial judgement
  • Inclusive, high-performing culture with a real focus on respect and teamwork
  • Wellbeing support, including a wellbeing fund and home office allowance
  • Strong platform for progression as you build client relationships and supervise junior lawyers
About the role
You’ll advise on the tax consequences of major transactions and strategic investments, working closely with senior tax lawyers and wider commercial teams. The work is broad, technical and commercially relevant, with opportunities to take ownership, contribute to client relationships and mentor more junior team members.
  • Advise on corporate reorganisations, trusts, IPOs, secondary offerings and spin-offs
  • Support M&A, joint ventures, partnerships, financing transactions and capital management programs
  • Assist with employee share schemes and executive remuneration matters
  • Negotiate with the ATO where required
  • Work closely with Corporate, Finance and Disputes teams
  • Contribute to supervision and mentoring of junior solicitors
  • Build strong client relationships to support the continued growth of the practice
What you'll bring

You’ll be a capable corporate tax lawyer who enjoys complex advisory work and is ready to keep growing in a top-end environment. You will combine technical strength with a collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail and the ability to deliver confidently in a busy practice.
  • 4+ years’ experience across corporate tax, international tax, M&A tax or related matters
  • Experience gained in a leading private practice firm, top-tier accounting firm or large corporate
  • Unrestricted Australian or New Zealand practising certificate
  • Excellent academic record, ideally with a Masters in Taxation or current study towards one
  • Ability to deliver high-quality work within tight timeframes
  • Strong client service focus and relationship-building skills
  • Team-first approach with an interest in mentoring junior lawyers
  • Curiosity about AI and emerging technologies
