This is an excellent opportunity for a confident Dental Hygienist seeking flexible locum work without the commitment of a full-time position.

About the Position Our client is looking for an experienced Locum Dental Hygienist to work approximately 2 days per week initially, with flexibility around the specific days.

Preferred working days:

• Tuesday and Wednesday (ideal)
• Tuesday and Thursday (alternative)
• Wednesday and Thursday (alternative)

This position is particularly suited to an experienced Hygienist who enjoys working autonomously and is comfortable managing their own clinical workflow.
Please note: This is an independent clinical position, and a Dental Assistant (DA) will not be provided. The successful candidate must be confident working without chairside assistance, including independently managing their treatment room, clinical preparation and infection control responsibilities.

Your responsibilities will include:

• Providing comprehensive hygiene treatments, including scaling and polishing
• Performing periodontal assessments and managing periodontal maintenance appointments
• Delivering preventive dental care and personalised oral hygiene education
• Providing fluoride treatments and other preventive services as appropriate
• Educating patients on maintaining excellent long-term oral health
• Independently managing clinical appointments, room preparation and turnaround
• Maintaining excellent infection control standards and accurate clinical documentation
• Delivering a professional and positive patient experience

Key Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration as a Dental Hygienist
• Previous clinical experience in a dental practice
• Ability to work independently without Dental Assistant support
• Confidence in managing clinical procedures, room setup and infection control autonomously
• Strong organisational and time-management skills
• Excellent communication and patient-care skills
• Availability for approximately 2 days per week, ideally Tuesday and Wednesday
• A proactive, reliable and professional approach to patient care
