The practice is seeking an experienced clinician who takes pride in delivering excellent dental hygiene services and enjoys the responsibility of managing their own clinical appointments.

About the Position Our client is looking for an experienced Locum Dental Hygienist who is comfortable working autonomously and delivering high-quality preventive dental care.

The position requires approximately 2 days per week initially, preferably Tuesday and Wednesday. However, Tuesday and Thursday or Wednesday and Thursday can also be accommodated.

This role is best suited to a self-sufficient Hygienist who is comfortable working without dedicated Dental Assistant support.

You'll have the opportunity to utilise your clinical expertise while taking ownership of your treatment room and daily workflow.

Key responsibilities include:

• Delivering professional scaling, polishing and periodontal treatments
• Assessing patients' oral hygiene and periodontal health
• Providing preventive oral healthcare and tailored treatment advice
• Educating patients about gum disease prevention and oral hygiene practices
• Managing treatment preparation, clinical instruments and room turnaround
• Maintaining accurate patient documentation and infection control protocols

Key Requirements

• Current AHPRA registration as a Dental Hygienist
• Demonstrated experience providing dental hygiene treatments
• Ability to work confidently without a Dental Assistant
• Strong clinical judgement and ability to manage appointments independently
• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
• Professional communication and a patient-centred approach
• Availability for 2 days per week
