Job Description

Join a leading national law firm’s Corporate & Commercial team in Sydney, working on high-profile M&A and cross-border transactions. This is an opportunity to work directly with a highly regarded Partner leading the firm’s China Desk, advising on joint ventures, acquisitions, disposals, regulatory approvals and international corporate matters. Salary and Features of the Position
  • Salary range: $170,000 – $200,000 + super (depending on experience)

About the Position

Our client is seeking a Senior Associate with at least 5 years PAE to join their Sydney Corporate & Commercial team. Working closely with a Partner who leads the firm’s China Desk, you will advise on a broad range of corporate transactions, with a particular emphasis on cross-border M&A.

The team handles joint ventures, acquisitions and disposals, corporate restructuring, licensing and general commercial contracts, and regulatory approvals including FIRB applications. With a growing reputation as a leading firm for mid-market transactions, this is an exciting opportunity for a Senior Associate looking to elevate their corporate practice while working with sophisticated local and international clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Advise on domestic and international M&A, joint ventures and disposals
  • Draft and negotiate acquisition documents, contracts and regulatory filings
  • Assist with FIRB approvals and other regulatory processes
  • Handle corporate restructuring and governance matters
  • Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to team development
  • Manage client relationships with listed companies, private equity and large private businesses
Key Requirements
  • Minimum 5 years PAE in corporate and commercial law
  • Strong experience in M&A, due diligence, and corporate transactions
  • Exposure to FIRB and regulatory approvals highly regarded
  • Skilled in corporate restructuring, governance and licensing
  • Ability to supervise and mentor junior lawyers
  • Background with a large national or international firm desirable
  • Strong commercial acumen, drafting ability and client focus
