Our client is a national commercial law firm that has done away with timesheets, individual budgets and the traditional partnership hierarchy. They are looking for a Head of Corporate to build, lead and grow their corporate practice, originate new work and help shape how a modern legal business operates. This is a permanent, full-time, senior role based in Melbourne CBD, with flexibility for Sydney and Brisbane candidates. It will suit a partner, principal or senior corporate lawyer ready for broader leadership responsibility.

• Build a profitable, sustainable corporate practice and set its direction
• Act for clients on corporate and transactional matters and keep the standard of that work high
• Strengthen your existing relationships with clients, referrers and strategic partners, and add new ones
• Originate new clients and matters to build a healthy pipeline of work
• Lead, coach and develop the corporate team and oversee the work it produces
• Champion smarter ways of working, including the use of AI and technology in delivering legal services
• Have a say in where the wider business is headed and how it positions itself in the market

What you'll bring

• Significant corporate law and transactional experience and a current Australian practising certificate
• A proven record of winning work and building client relationships
• A network and referral base you are keen to activate and grow
• Experience leading and developing lawyers
• Strong commercial judgment and an ownership mindset
• Curiosity about AI, technology and how legal services will evolve
• A collaborative, team-first approach
