Our client is a national commercial law firm that runs on shared outcomes rather than timesheets. They are looking for a Senior Employment Lawyer to advise a mix of ad hoc and retainer clients across the whole employment lifecycle, with real autonomy and a senior voice in where the team goes next. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid role based in Sydney CBD; Melbourne-based candidates will also be considered, and part-time can be discussed for the right person.

About the role
This is a senior, client-facing advisory role covering the whole employment relationship, from hiring through to exit.

• Advise ad hoc and retainer clients across the full employment lifecycle: hiring, managing and firing
• Handle complex and sensitive employment matters with confidence and minimal supervision
• Build and manage your own client relationships and help win and retain new ones
• Contribute to the direction of the team and the wider practice as a senior voice

What you'll bring

• 6 to 10 years' PAE in employment and workplace relations law and a current Australian practising certificate
• A strong technical foundation and confidence advising on complex matters
• A business development mindset, with experience winning and retaining clients
• A commercial approach: practical, strategic advice that fits the client's objectives
• Strong client relationship skills and a proactive, ownership-driven approach
• A collaborative style that adds to the team's culture and shared targets
