Our client is a national commercial law firm that has swapped timesheets and individual targets for shared outcomes. They are looking for a Senior Disputes & Litigation Lawyer to take ownership of debt and asset recovery work for one of their largest clients, and to help shape and lead a growing practice. This is a permanent, full-time, hybrid role based in Melbourne CBD, and candidates in Sydney, Brisbane or Perth will also be considered.

About the role
This is a senior, client-facing position that combines hands-on recovery litigation with account management and team leadership.

• Act as account manager for one of our client's largest accounts, growing the relationship well beyond individual matters
• Lead debt and asset recovery matters across Australian jurisdictions, including breach of contract claims and the enforcement of guarantees and indemnities
• Build, lead and mentor a team of junior lawyers and set the standard for how that team works
• Work alongside the head of the practice to shape the disputes and litigation offering, including winning new clients that fit an ideal client profile

What you'll bring

• 10+ years' PAE in civil litigation and a current Australian practising certificate
• Deep experience in debt and asset recovery litigation and insolvency, including winding up applications and creditors' petitions, across state and federal courts
• A track record of managing large matter portfolios and senior client relationships
• The confidence to run files autonomously and get them right first go, within a collaborative team
• A genuine interest in mentoring junior lawyers and building a team
