About the position Due to continued growth, our client is seeking a Senior Associate (or experienced Associate) to join their cyber and technology disputes practice in Sydney. The role sits within a highly regarded team advising on professional indemnity and liability matters involving emerging technologies and cyber events.
In this role, you will:
- Act in high-value disputes involving cyber breaches, data loss, and technology product failures
- Advise technology service providers and their insurers on professional indemnity and liability exposures
- Draft and negotiate legal documents including position statements, pleadings, and settlement terms
- Work on claims involving contractual disputes, IP breaches, regulatory investigations, and emerging tech risk
- Collaborate with a highly regarded Partner and a team known for its sector-specific expertise
- Gain exposure to cutting-edge issues in AI, software failures, IT infrastructure disputes, and more
Key Requirements - Admission as a lawyer in Australia
- Minimum 3+ years’ post-admission experience in insurance, professional indemnity, cyber or tech litigation
- Strong drafting, research, and litigation strategy skills
- Commercial mindset and ability to engage with complex technical subject matter
- Proactive team player with excellent communication and organisation
