It’s easy for a clinic to describe itself as supportive.
It’s much harder to demonstrate it through the people who have chosen to stay.

This established Newcastle paediatric service has experienced Occupational Therapists who have remained with the organisation for years, including OTs who continue to work clinically and support the wider team.

You’ll be joining a service that isn’t constantly rebuilding its workforce.
Instead, you’ll step into an established multidisciplinary team where clinicians know one another, discuss cases regularly and are comfortable asking each other for advice.

• Structured Appointments: Clinic sessions are generally 45 minutes with the child plus 15 minutes for notes.
• Minimal Routine Home Visiting: Community work is predominantly school-based.
• Local Travel: Most school appointments are within approximately 30 minutes of the clinic.

Your Caseload: You'll work with children and adolescents aged approximately 2–18 years.

Presentations can include:

• Autism
• ADHD
• Sensory processing differences
• Emotional regulation
• Executive functioning
• Fine and gross motor development
• Self-care
• School participation
• Independence and daily living skills

The caseload is predominantly children with Level 1 and Level 2 Autism, with exposure to more complex presentations depending on your confidence and experience.

Your week is generally around:
50% clinic | 50% school/community

Community appointments are school visits rather than spending large portions of the day travelling between private homes.

A Multidisciplinary Team That Actually Collaborates: Many children access more than one discipline within the clinic.

That means if you share a client with a Speech Pathologist or Psychologist, the other clinician is right there.

You can ask a question, discuss a strategy or work together around the child's broader goals rather than relying on emails between disconnected providers.

The whole clinical team also meets regularly to discuss cases and share ideas.

Who They're Looking For You'll need at least one year of Occupational Therapy experience.

Paediatric or NDIS experience is beneficial, but they're equally interested in finding someone who:

• Works well within a team
• Communicates openly
• Enjoys working with children and families
• Values clinical quality
• Wants ongoing learning and support
• Is looking for a workplace they can genuinely settle into

Requirements

• Relevant Occupational Therapy qualification
• Full AHPRA registration
• Minimum 1 year Occupational Therapy experience
• Driver's licence and vehicle
• Working With Children Check
• National Police Check
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance
