Job Description

Our client is a boutique corporate and commercial law firm based in Brisbane CBD with a well-regarded property development practice operating across Queensland and other Australian states. The firm advises developers, investors, land owners, and community management scheme operators on the full lifecycle of property development projects — from site acquisition and feasibility through to off-the-plan sales, settlement, and ongoing scheme management.

Salary and Features of the Positioon

This role is built for experienced property lawyers who want high-quality development work with genuine flexibility. Part-time and contracting options are part of the firm’s talent model, not an afterthought.

  • $130,000–$150,000 package, adjusted for experience and hours commitment

About the role

You will work across the full lifecycle of property development projects, from site acquisition and feasibility through to off-the-plan sales, settlement and ongoing scheme management.
  • Off-the-plan contract preparation and review for residential apartments, townhouses and mixed-use developments
  • Sunset clause advice and risk management for developer and purchaser clients
  • Community management scheme establishment
  • Body corporate by-laws, lot entitlements, community management statements and disclosure statements under the BCCM Act 1997 (Qld)
  • Land title registration, including plan of subdivision advice, building format plans, standard format plans and volumetric lots
  • Queensland disclosure regime compliance for off-the-plan sales
  • Developer advisory work during pre-sales and construction phases
  • Due diligence on site acquisitions and development land
  • Advising on joint ventures, option agreements and put-and-call arrangements
What you'll bring
  • Experience in Queensland property development law
  • Off-the-plan, community title or land registration experience essential
  • Working knowledge of the Body Corporate and Community Management Act 1997 (Qld) and associated standard modules preferred
  • Familiarity with Queensland land registration requirements and Titles Registry practice
  • Strong transactional drafting skills across contracts, community management statements and disclosure documents
  • Open PQE level, from mid-level lawyers through to senior practitioners
  • Queensland admission essential for registration and BCCM work
